EBOOKS: THE IDLE GOLD MINE

Do you use the internet to make money for yourself or OTHERS?
FOR THOSE who want to start selling eBooks you MUST read this before ANYONE else lest this market floods.
Just like you I am a curious internet lover. I live on the internet, it feeds me, clothe me, it’s my main source of income. In fact it has made be remain connected to friends whom I last met 15 years ago and some whom I have never met too. It possesses great sites such as; FACEBOOK, Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus, Skrill, Paypal, Neteller and others have made life easier for a common Mwananchi.
FACTS & FIGURES: According to Reuters, Facebook had approximately 4,500,000 ACTIVE users in Kenya by September, 2010. The active users are the people who log in, post comments or update their status at least once per day. And these numbers must have grown by now [I did this research some time back in April]
DIVERSIFY: If you can read my previous posts you will learn that I used to be an academic writer (2013-2015). I am currently working as a transcriber and proofreader on Nonotes and Upwork platforms and as an EBook seller on social media sites.
NICHE: Successful businesses usually discriminate whom to offer their services to. You can decide to sell books on recipes/cook-books, wisdom, poetry, internet marketing or any other. One thing you need to do is to first select whom to sell to, and then market your product. The saying that ‘The Customer is the King’ doesn’t apply here, there are over 1.5 Billion users and one person should never waste your time. MOVE ON, millions of untapped potential clients are waiting in the line.
LET’S DO THE MATH: Let’s say you have a bunch of books and your target for one month is 1 out of 4,500 ACTIVE Facebook users [Twitter, YouTube tuziweke kando] This means that out of 4.5M your target is 1000 clients. If you sell One ebook to them at 100/- you get a net worth 100k. If you decide to sell to them for like 8 books for 500/- your income goes to 500k. The secret is to give your clients value for their money.
SHOP: Facebook has made it easier to reach more clients. You can virtually set up a shop on facebook, receive payments and transfer the same to your bank account or Paypal account. I haven’t tried this feature yet (I think it is called Shopify- jina kama hilo!) NOTE: Only Equity bank can be linked and receive money via Skrill. No other Kenyan bank does this.

MARKETING: How do I reach these clients? Have you come across a post with the tag ‘Sponsored’? If you have a page you can sponsor a post for as low as $1. A sponsored post for $5 normally reaches a market of 5000+ people. It is even possible to refine your niche by targeting people of a specific gender, age brakets and even locality [in this photo my target is women, 24-65 years, all in Kenya] You can expand this to target Tanzania and Rwanda because they have Mpesa in their countries. OR> If you have a shop on Shopify, you can target all English speaking countries (Utauza vitabu even in a country called Maluku- it’s in the Pacific Ocean)

5 ADVANTAGES OF OWNING A GOOD WEBSITE

Do you own a website? Have you ever wondered how websites make money? Well, they do make money. Normal websites earn a lot of income to their owners .

Here are some of the 10 best reasons or advantages of owning a website.
1.      Boost Sales
A website is essential in increasing the sales margin of your business. This is because it allows you to reach more techno-serve customers than a business without a website. Increased sales result in increased profits. What is more important than a business that is a cash-cow?
      2.      High SEO Ranking
There are two types of websites on the internet. These are those whose content will appear on the first pages when searched and those whose content is hard to find.  A website owner makes sure the content on his/her website is what the client needs. A high ranking website will be visited more and this great traffic generates more business leads for your firm. Google ads can also generate more income on such sites.
    3.      Competetive Advantage
A business that owns a website has a competitive edge over its competitors. Customers favor businesses that look more serious- own a website- than those that don’t. This proves the credibility of a business to be high notch.
    4.      Source of Long-term Clients
The difference between a client a customer is that a customer visits your business one while a client regularly visits it. Long-term clients are good for the continuity of the business. This also reduces the cost of advertisement to get new and more clients.
    5.      Advertising
Websites can be used to create awareness about new products and services. An online presence makes sure that your clients receive updates on any new developments. This also reduces the cost of advertisement.
